Notes: Billed as Gary & The Boners, The Replacements play a warm-up set in preperation for the headling slot at Irving Plaza which will include many major label representatives. Gene Simmons and Alex Chilton are in the audience. The Red Hot Chili Peppers must have been on Paul’s mind becuase he mentions them several times throughout the show. This show is a drunken mess.
Support: Get Smart
Bootleg: Superstar Collection (partial) / Live And Drunk

Probably the best drunk Replacements show captured on tape. Pure stupid rock and roll at its best/worst. The Replacements will ALWAYS be my favorite band.
ReplyDeleteGreatest band ever.
ReplyDeleteAmen!
ReplyDeleteI´m fucking psyched just reading the songs they played at the show! Could almost believie I´m there seing them. Wish I was. The best rock and roll-band throughout history, by many many means...They were so sadly beautiful.
ReplyDelete/Ray, Sweden
The last great rock & roll band....
DeleteSo enjoying the steady stream of mats. Had this one and lost it in a hard drive crash. Any chance you could re-up? Such a classic show...

DeleteYou sir, are cool.
ReplyDeleteHad the good fortune of growing up in MPLS in the 80s and got to see them plenty back in the day but never tire of hearing more.
Don't know by any chance if there's a copy of their 1983 Whole music club show at coffman union at the U of M in your pile of 100s of shows? Remember standing in line for ages for that one but didn't get in...
Thanks again for the CBGBs and everything else you're putting up!
Check my list and don't think that is available. Only around 15 or so shows from 1983.
